Steering Boot
The Steering Boot (also called Steering Rack Boot or Steering Rack Gaiter) is a protective rubber cover fitted over the steering rack ends. Its main function is to protect the steering rack and tie rod joints from dust, dirt, water, and other contaminants while retaining the necessary lubrication inside.
Key Functions:
Protects steering components from dirt and moisture
Prevents premature wear of the steering rack and tie rods
Ensures smooth steering operation
Durable rubber design for long service life
A damaged or torn steering boot can allow contaminants to enter, leading to steering stiffness, noise, or costly rack damage. Regular inspection and replacement help maintain smooth and safe steering.
